The Ramaiah Group, in association with St. George’s University (SGU), offers a 5-year pathway to an MD Degree. Students start their first year at Ramaiah with a preclinical curriculum that lays a firm foundation for the advanced studies offered later in the 4-year MD program at SGU.

The pathway offers high school graduates (10+2), the opportunity to obtain a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree via a 5-Year Medical Degree pathway starting at Ramaiah International Medical School, Bengaluru, before eligible students progress to St. George’s University School of Medicine, Grenada. Students spend the last two years of the 5-year Medical Degree pathway in clinical rotations at SGU’s 75+ affiliated hospitals and health centers in the US or UK.

The curriculum of the preclinical Program forms the foundation for the 4-year MD degree program with SGU. Students study preclinical sciences, social sciences and humanities. This year of the program is conducted at IMS, Ramaiah Campus in Bengaluru, India. Students have access to Ramaiah’s medical facilities and resources, and are taught by seasoned faculty.

The course modules include Introduction to Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Introduction to Practical Skills for Health Sciences, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Physiology, Human Anatomy, Learning Strategies for the Pre-Professional Programs, Communication for Health Professions and Abnormal Psychology.

The curriculum for students enrolling in this pathway in India, the UK, and Grenada remains consistent, preparing eligible students to seamlessly join the 1st year of the 4-year MD program in the UK or Grenada. Students gradually adapt to the SGU teaching and learning style and their future studies abroad through guest lectures from SGU faculty and buddy student programs.
