Overview

 Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons} (Geography) is an undergraduate full-time Geography course. The duration of this course is 3 years divided into six semesters. Geography is the study of features and inhabitants of Earth and land. The course highlights are different aspects of water, land, environment, and all interior and exterior formations.

The average fees for this course range between INR 2,000 to 3 lakhs based on the candidate’s performance in entrance exams and marks obtained in their 10+2 examinations.

Candidates who have completed 10+2 or an equivalent examination in arts stream from a recognized board are eligible for this course. Students have to secure 45% of marks to obtain entry requirements for this course.

Candidates study subjects such as Geomorphology, Hydrology, Climatology, Nature of Geography, social geography, economic geographic, Geography of India, etc. Some of the techniques learned by this course are Cartographic techniques in Geography, Analytical techniques in geography, applied geographical techniques, and develop a field report based on their findings.

After completion of this course, graduates can work in positions are Geographer, Demographer, Cartographer, Forest manager, Tourist guide translator, Regional planner, etc. and work in areas like Colleges/Universities, Travel Journalism, Rural development Departments, Travel and Tourism Industry, Mining Industry, Government Research Industry, etc. The average salary for these professionals ranges between INR 2 to10 lakhs based on the expertise and experience in this field.
